Bases and reserves

The rules of the National Art Competition detail all the requirements, rules and conditions necessary to participate. From the evaluation criteria to the guidelines for the different categories, this document guarantees a clear, fair and transparent process. In addition, we offer a reservation system to ensure your place in this unique event that brings together the best talents from all over the country. Dance and Classical Ballet

Rules of the National Dance Competition

I. Purpose

The National Dance Competition aims to promote artistic expression through various dance disciplines, offering a platform for recognition and development for dancers of all ages and skill levels.


II. Organization

The event is organized by CNAlive and will take place on **February 20, 21, and 22, 2026**.


III. Categories by Style

  1. Classical Ballet: Neoclassical, free repertoire.
  2. Modern Dance: Contemporary, Modern Jazz, Jazz-Fusion, and Musical Jazz.</
  • Urban Dances: Funky, Hip-Hop, Break Dance, Locking, Popping, House, and Voguing.
  • Spanish Dance and Flamenco: Spanish dance, Flamenco, Folklore, and Bolero styles.

IV. Participation Modalities

  • Solo: One person on stage.
  • Duos: Two-person combinations.
  • Group: From 3 to 15 people.
  • Megacrew: From 15 to 20 people (only for urban and Spanish dances).

V. Age Categories

  1. Preparatory: 7 to 10 years old.
  2. Children: 11 to 13 years old.
  3. Youth: 14 to 17 years old.
  4. Adults: 18 to 29 years old.
  5. Diversity: From 7 years old with no age limit, group entries only, minimum of 6 members (all styles).
  6. Senior: From 30 years old onward, group entries only, minimum of 6 members (all styles).

Note: Participant age will be calculated as of January 1, 2025.

Exception: In Classical Dance, up to 30 seconds extra will be allowed for repertoire variations.


VII. Membership

Mandatory to participate.

  • Card Fees:
    • Student: €25.00
    • Teacher: €20.00

IX. Registration

Registration will close once the competition reaches its maximum capacity. If you are still interested in registering, you may join the waiting list. No payment will be required or accepted. CNAlive will do its best to accommodate all participants.
Early Bird Special
Participants who register before September 30, 2025, will receive a €10 discount on their registration fee.

Reservation Period: From February 1, 2025.

  • Fees:
    • Solo: €60 per participant
    • Duos: €50 per participant
    • Group: €40 per participant
    • Megacrew: €30 per participant
  • Process:
    1. Fill out the online form at www.cnalive.com.
    2. Submit payment confirmation and required documents.

Note: The registration and administrative fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-creditable. Please refer to our refund policy below.

Refund Policy

  • Only **50% of the registration fee** will be granted as credit for the next competition.
  • Credit requests must be submitted at least **two weeks before the competition** starts.
  • All requests must include **a medical certificate of injury**.

X. Evaluation Criteria

The jury will evaluate the following aspects:

  1. Technique: Accuracy, control, and proper use of technique.
  2. Creativity: Originality in choreography and performance.
  3. Stage Expression: Charisma, emotional expression, and audience connection.
  4. Use of Space: Movement and stage coverage.
  5. Costume: Appropriateness and creativity.

XI. Penalties and Disqualifications

  1. Penalties:
    • Exceeding choreography time limit.
    • Registration errors.
    • Inappropriate or incorrect costumes.
    • Points will be deducted for each infraction.
  2. Disqualifications:
    • Disrespect towards judges or other participants.
    • Use of prohibited props (e.g., toxic or dangerous materials).
    • Unauthorized changes to choreography between rounds.

XII. Awards

1st Prize

  • 20 points: Gold medal, diploma, €500, €250 in dance accessories, €250 in professional video production.
  • 19 points: Gold medal and diploma of excellence with jury commendation.
  • 18 points: Gold medal with diploma by unanimous jury decision.

2nd Prize

  • 17 points: Silver medal and diploma.

3rd Prize

  • 16 points: Bronze medal and diploma.

Participation Diplomas

  • 12–15 points: Participation diploma.

Special Awards:

  • Scholarships and special invitations to join the professional company.
  • Opportunity to participate in future editions as a special guest.
